Tom Morris


Tom Morris is Artistic Director of Bristol Old Vic, where his productions include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is about to embark on a world tour, Juliet and Her Romeo and Swallows and Amazons and Associate Director of the National Theatre, where he co-directed War Horse and Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, adapted A Matter of Life and Death and developed Coram Boy.

He was the Artistic Director of Battersea Arts Centre (BAC) from 1995 to 2004 and before that was an arts journalist and freelance producer, working for Time Out, The Sunday Times, The Observer and The Independent, and broadcasting for Kaleidoscope, Front Row and The Saturday Review. He recently directed his first opera, The Death of Klinghoffer for ENO and in 2011 was awarded a Tony Award for Best Director (with Marianne Elliott) for War Horse.
